DEN Releases RFP For Five Concessions Packages

Denver International (DEN) has released a Request for Proposals for five concessions packages, four of which include food and beverage opportunities and a fifth outlining a retail opportunity.

The first two packages seek operators for coffee kiosks, with three locations included in each package. Each package includes single locations in Concourses A, B and C. The contract length is seven years.

Package Three seeks an operator for two travel/convenience retail locations, one each in Concourses B and C. According to the RFP, the concepts must feature locally made branded products along with other sundries, books, magazines, newspapers, small electronics and electronic accessories, pre-packaged foods, snacks and bottled beverages. The contract term is seven years.

An operator for a fast-casual dining hall for Concourse A is sought with Package Four. The 10-year lease opportunity is intended to be subdivided into multiple branded concepts. Dual branding is permitted. “Through this opportunity [the] City seeks to provide a first-class dining service at value pricing to all airport patrons, innovative facility designs complementing DEN’s brand identity and optimization of DEN’s non-airline revenues,” the airport said.

Finally, Package Five consists of a Colorado-focused sports bar. DEN is looking for “a vibrant sports bar theme with high-quality decor, state-of-the-art HD flat panel televisions display that draws customers into the location and provides an ambiance corresponding with Colorado’s sport teams,” the RFP stated. “The concept must be unique and inviting and demonstrate a fun and inviting atmosphere that shifts according to the seasons for various sports activities throughout the year.” The contract term is 10 years.

DEN said interested parties are encouraged to respond to multiple packages. In the case of the two coffee packages, companies can respond to both, but a single proposer may not be awarded both packages.

All proposals are due by 2 p.m. Mountain Standard Time on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017. A mandatory pre-proposal conference will be held Thursday, Nov. 17, at the airport’s City Conference Room.
