DEN Selects Day As Aviation Manager

Denver International (DEN) has officially named Kim Day its new aviation manager.
 
Day, a former executive director of Los Angeles World Airports, will assume her new role March 3. She will replace Turner West, who is retiring. Her annual salary will be $240,000, city officials said.
 
During her time at LAWA, she oversaw 3,000 employees and a $600M operating budget. Under her leadership, annual passenger traffic at Los Angeles International (LAX) grew from 64 million to 80 million.
 
She left LAWA after six years, the last two of which were spent as executive director, in September 2005. Most recently she has been president and chief executive officer of a Los Angeles-based aviation consulting firm. Prior to that, she had been a director with the Jacobs Consultancy for about one year and had spent more than two decades as an airport architect and planner.
