Deputy Executive Director Rose Retiring From Orlando International

James Rose, deputy executive director of business services and facilities for the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, has announced his retirement.

“I’ve decided it’s time to taxi to the hangar,” he wrote in an email to friends, colleagues and industry officials. “My airframe is showing signs of fatigue, and my power plant is losing thrust, so I will be retiring from GOAA as of Friday, May 22.”

At GOAA, Rose has assisted in the day-to-day operations and management at Orlando International (MCO) and Orlando Executive (ORL), and he’s had oversight responsibilities in the marketing, concessions, commercial properties, construction, planning/engineering and maintenance departments.

He’s served in a variety of aviation-related public and private-sector positions over 45 years, including roles with the Lee County Port Authority and DMJM Aviation. His longest tenure was with Delta Air Lines, where he spent more than 29 years.
