Dexter’s Chargrill, Bar opens at Bristol International

SSP UK brought the first table-service restaurant to !Bristol International (BRS) when it opened a Dexter’s Chargrill and Bar this month.

The addition is part of a $15M redevelopment of the airport that aims to respond to increased passenger dwell times on the airport’s airside.

Dexter’s, owned by Clapham House Group, is an American-style family restaurant serving quality, health-conscious, ethically sourced products such as burgers and its signature Superfood Salad.

Tracy Kitchener-Kemp, managing director of Dexter’s Restaurants, says Clapham House saw an opportunity to expand by providing table-service restaurants in airports, something that is now uncommon.

“Consumer trends and feedback suggest that increased security has led to an increase in passenger dwell time airside,” she says. “Subsequently, both business and leisure passengers are looking for a more leisurely dining experience with an all-day offering comparable with the high street.”

Clapham House’s partnership with SSP was a natural, she adds, because the company has a track record of delivering high-quality operations and is a leading airport food and beverage operator in the United Kingdom.

“They have vast experience of operating within the complexities required of an airside site and are therefore the perfect partnership for us,” she says.
