Dallas/Fort Worth International (DFW) is rolling out new amenities to aid customers in response to a projected 3.5 percent increase in passenger traffic during the summer travel period this year.
“This summer we’re rolling out new mobile food ordering, the DFW Journey Planner and opening an enhanced parking facility for easy access to Terminal E,” said Ken Buchanan, executive vice president of revenue management for DFW. “Innovating new services for our customers helped DFW earn the title of the number-one large airport for customer satisfaction in North America. We’re excited to introduce these new features, and we’ll continue to work on new ways to elevate the customer experience at DFW.”
The DFW Mobile App now has a mobile ordering feature that allows passengers to pre-order and pay for food for pick up in the airport. Grab partnered with DFW’s mobile app vendor to embed Grab’s online ordering functionality into the airport’s app.
DFW also added a Journey Planner to the airport’s official website. The Journey Planner allows passengers to create custom itineraries for their time at DFW. They simply answer a few questions about their travel plans and preferences, and the Journey Planner gives travelers personalized recommendations for parking, shopping and dining at the airport. The feature also has an interactive map for wayfinding assistance, and passengers can save their Journey Planner results for future visits.
Finally, the new five-story Terminal E parking garage is now open. It has 3,500 spaces and utilizes DFW’s Parking Guidance System, which uses overhead lights and electronic signs to navigate travelers to open spaces.
