Dallas/Fort Worth International (DFW) and Sabre Travel
Studios are trying to make it easier for passengers to get travel information
via their mobile phones.
TripCase, a smartphone application developed by Sabre
Travel Studios and available for iPhone and BlackBerry platforms, lets
passengers track airline, hotel and car rental information, and receive updates
automatically. DFW passengers will also get updates on security wait times,
gate and bag claim changes, and information on retail discounts and services in
the terminals, as well as share travel experiences, information and plans with
family, friends and colleagues.
“Now more
than ever, we know that value is important to our customers,” says Joe Lopano,
executive vice president of marketing and terminal management for the airport.
“DFW has partnered with its many retail and dining locations to provide
passengers with price-conscious offers via TripCase, which places real value at
the fingertips of our customers. Whether you prefer a BlackBerry or iPhone, you
are going to have key travel information and great value offers from DFW
International Airport thanks to TripCase and the unique partnership with Sabre
Travel Studios.”
The free application, which is slated to also come in a
Windows Mobile version in the fall, can be downloaded at www.dfwairport.com/shops
or www.tripcase.com.
“Our goal
with TripCase is to be the ultimate mobile application for travelers,” says
John Samuel, senior vice president of Sabre Travel Studios. “Not only does
TripCase keep all of your key travel information at your fingertips, it is
smart enough to proactively provide tips and tools that are relevant to where
you are in your trip.”
