The DIA Partnership (DIAP), a public-private organization dedicated to promoting Denver International (DIA) as the region’s core economic asset, was absorbed this month into the Metro Denver Economic Development Corp.
The two organizations affirmed the consolidation last week and members of both have begun defining the scope of the work for the coming year. DIAP will operate as a “special purpose entity” and be renamed DIA Leadership. Its focus will include airport and aviation-related job growth, sustainability, access and transportation.
Until changing its focus to promoting the airport in 2007, DIAP had previously focused more on economic development in the northeast metro Denver area.
