The Lee County Port Authority has promoted Gary Duncan to deputy executive director, effective June 1.
Duncan will lead a division of 300 employees at Southwest Florida International (RSW) and Page Field (FMY). He will be responsible for fiscal, administrative and operational oversight of maintenance, the Airport Police Department, contract management, opreations and safety, aviation program and technology, and Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting. Additionally, he will oversee base operations at FMY.
Duncan has been with the port authority since 2001 as division director of aviation. Prior to that, he spent nine years at the Jacksonville Port Authority in various roles.
He is a certified member of the American Association of Airport Executives and serves on the board of directors for the Florida Airports Council. He is also a member of Airports Council International – North America and was previously chair of the public safety and security committee.
