Escape Lounge Opens At MCI

Kansas City International Airport (MCI) concession manager Vantage Group and Escape Lounges have launched a new lounge in the airport’s Concourse A. Located near gate A5, the new Escape Lounge is accessible to all MCI customers through purchased passes and will offer complimentary access to American Express Centurion®, American Express Platinum®, American Express Business Platinum®, American Express Corporate Platinum®, Delta SkyMiles® Reserve and Delta SkyMiles® Reserve Business Card members on Delta-marked flights, as well as Priority Pass and DragonPass members.

In addition to standard lounge amenities like WiFi and charging stations, the lounge features a 7,000-publication digital library for passengers to enjoy as well as custom lighting and installation by local artists Suze Ford, Nathan Neufeld and Belger Arts, and design references to Kansas City’s nickname, “The City of Fountains.” The lounge’s menu will showcase chef-curated, seasonally rotating breakfast, lunch and dinner options as well as coffee from local brand The Roasterie Coffee Company.

“As the proud managers of a uniquely Kansas City-inspired concessions program at MCI, we are delighted to welcome Escape Lounges and its beautiful new space that celebrates the unique character and flavor of our city and region,” said Marsha Chesmore, Vantage Group’s general manager at MCI. “We know that guests will appreciate this latest enhancement to the airport experience.”

“Escape Lounges will offer an excellent option for those traveling for business or with friends and families alike,” added Melissa Cooper, Kansas City director of aviation. “The lounge experience, available to all travelers, provides another fantastic pre-flight amenity. We are proud to keep enhancing our award-winning airport terminal, and the addition of the Escape Lounge to our curated shopping and dining program does just that.”

“We’re thrilled to open our newest Escape Lounge at Kansas City International Airport, and to be able to offer passengers the opportunity to pre-book their experience,” said Craig Pring, vice president of growth and experiences for CAVU, the parent company of Escape Lounges. “Pre-booking a visit guarantees guests have an Escape to Remember, and can start their trip being able to relax, unwind and enjoy delicious, freshly prepared food from our in-house chefs.”
