Fick Named CEO At Port Of Seattle

The Port of Seattle Commission has selected Tacoma native Ted J. Fick as its CEO. He’ll replace Tay Yoshitani.

Fick has decades of experience leading manufacturing organizations across the U.S. He still must be approved when commissioners vote in a public session Sept. 11.

“Ted has the right combination of skills and dynamic leadership to help the Port of Seattle thrive in the globally competitive environment ports face today,” says Courtney Gregoire, co-president of the commission. “He brings the fresh perspective we need to help our region generate new jobs and economic growth.”

The port plays a role in bringing international trade, transportation and travel top the Pacific Northwest. It owns and operates Seattle-Tacoma International (SEA) and harbor facilities in the region. Mark Reis, managing director at SEA, would report to Fick.

Assuming Fick is approved, he’ll begin work Sept. 29.
