Firkin Pub Wins Contract At YHZ

The Firkin Group of Pubs has reached an agreement with Halifax Stanfield International (YHZ) to construct a Firkin Pub on the departures level.

Firkin Pub will occupy a space where HMSHost-operated Legends Nova Scotia is currently. HMSHost will open a new higher-end restaurant in recently-created space on the departures level, the airport said.

Construction of Firkin Pub is scheduled to begin next year with completion slated for spring of 2018. The Canadian concept will offer traditional pub fare along with wraps, sandwiches and salads.

“We are delighted to share the news of this additional dining option,” said Jo-Anne McLean, director of air service and terminal development for the Halifax International Airport Authority. “We have received feedback from passengers and visitors that they’d like to have an additional sit down dining option. We’re confident Firkin Pub will be a welcome addition to the airport and we look forward to their opening.”
