First Concessions Under New Program Open At TPA

An organic coffee shop and a pretzel snack chain opened last week on Airside A at Tampa International (TPA).

Just days after opening a new distribution center, the airport celebrated the grand opening for the first two new entrants into its concessions program.

Bay Coffee & Tea, a locally based organic coffee shop, and Auntie Anne’s, a soft pretzel franchise, are the concepts.

“We are thrilled to welcome in these two new concession options and to begin to transform the food, beverage and retail options available at Tampa International Airport,” says Joe Lopano, CEO at TPA.

They are the first of 65 new shops and restaurants coming to TPA, more than 30 of which will open in 2016. Bay Coffee & Tea is minority-owned and certified as an Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise. It was founded in 2004 by Herb Colvin, who started initially in a small farmer’s market in Dunedin, Fla. The company is working as a joint venture partner with Hojeij Branded Foods at TPA.

Auntie Anne’s has partnered with Duomo Gelato, another local operation that will provide customers with freshly made gelato. Auntie Anne’s has partnered with Delaware North’s travel hospitality division to enter TPA.
