The Florida State Department of Health has expanded its deployment to state airports to now include Palm Beach International Airport (PBI), where its team is now screening arriving passengers for the COVID-19 virus.
As part of a state executive order, Florida initially deployed Department of Health teams to five airports: Miami International (MIA), Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International (FLL), Orlando International (MCO), Jacksonville International (JAX), and Tampa International (TPA).
The health teams at PBI are coordinating with airport and airline officials as well as the local Palm Beach County Sheriff, TSA and Palm Beach County Fire Rescue.
“PBI continues to post information on social media and PBIA.org, has placed signage in strategic locations to ensure that all departing passengers are aware of the requirements, and began overhead messaging regarding the mandates provided in the Executive Order,” the airport says in a statement.
