FLL Offers Camera-Based Parking Guidance System

Travelers at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International (FLL) soon will have assistance in finding open parking spaces and in finding their vehicles when they return to the airport.

Park Assist is installing its camera system there, making FLL the first airport in the U.S. with a camera-based parking guidance system, according to company officials. The project is being done in partnership with Hub Parking Technology.

The installation is expected to be complete by this fall.

The Park Assist camera system, utilized in more than 20 countries worldwide, includes several features. Travelers will receive guidance to open parking spaces throughout the airport’s garages and back to their cars using the company’s Find-Your-Car feature.

Working with Hub Parking Technology’s revenue control platform, Park Assist’s program also will enable a new premium-parking product.

“Our technology will give Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport an edge in customer draw and service, while simultaneously empowering operations and boosting paid-parking revenues,” says Gary Neff, CEO of Park Assist.

“We are looking forward to offering our parkers a better overall experience at the airport with faster parking and advanced surveillance,” adds Douglas Wolfe, aviation assistant director at FLL.
