Flu Shots To Be Given Friday At SAN

The San Diego Regional Airport Authority and Community Health Improvement Partners are teaming up to help people avoid the flu.

Free flu shots will be offered Friday at San Diego International (SAN) to travelers, meeters/greeters, airport employees and tenants. Injections will be available in the baggage claim areas of Terminal 1  from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Terminal 2 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The partnership between the authority and CHIP, a nonprofit collaboration of San Diego health care systems, hospitals, community clinics, insurers, physicians, universities, community benefit organizations and the county of San Diego, is the only known effort to offer the free vaccines.

It is the second year the flu shots are offered; 605 people received immunizations last year.
