Travelers who want to be “kissed” this Valentine’s Day weekend will get their wish at LaGuardia (LGA).
Food & Shops will be giving away 10,000 Hershey Kisses; it also will be offering a slew of special offers and contests to mark the holiday.
One such contest is on Twitter. Travelers following @shoplaguardia can tweet a picture of Cupid on Friday if they see her wandering around the Central Terminal Building. Those who tweet a picture will be entered to win a sterling silver heart necklace from Taxco Sterling; winners will be chosen every hour from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The “Gifts for your Sweetie” shopping program will run Feb. 9-14, giving travelers a chance to pick up a gift for the special person in their life. Several retailers, including The Body Shop, The Metropolitan Museum of Art Store and Borders, will feature “Gifts for your Sweetie” tables in front of their stores that feature Valentine’s Day gifts.
“By giving out chocolate kisses, we hope to brighten our passengers’ day and let them know that they are appreciated,” says Lillian Tan, vice president and general manager of MarketPlace Development, the retail development company that manages the Food & Shops program in the terminal. “The ‘Gifts for Your Sweetie’ program is a convenient way to help busy travelers pick up unique, last-minute gifts for their special someone.”
