Fraport USA concessionaires will help Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) in Celebrate Pittsburgh, a week-long event featuring live music and entertainment, delicious food and drink, giveaways and popular attractions.
The August 12-16 celebration kicks off with a return visit of the always popular live African penguin from the National Aviary and complimentary treats from Smiley Cookies. The week also features performances by local singer Jeff Jimerson and the Pittsburgh band Airborne and a visit by the Pittsburgh Penguins hockey team mascot Iceburgh.
McDonalds is also using the week to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Big Mac, which was invented in Pittsburgh, with free Big Mac giveaways by one its signature mascots, the Hamburglar.
Throughout the week, Pittsburgh Exchange will treat guests to a taste of the city with delicious samples from B’Poppin Popcorn, Pittsburgh Salt Company, Applecious, Pittsburgh Pickle Company and DeLallo’s and other local favorites.
