Fraport USA has opened new dining and retail concepts at Pittsburgh International (PIT), with an emphasis on local concepts.
Gaby et Jules and The Strip Market’s “Best of Pittsburgh” kiosks are now open through AirMall Pittsburgh’s POP-OPPs program, which offers opportunities to new concessionaires. Gaby et Jules offers authentic French confections including macarons, confitures (jams) and gourmet nuts in the patisserie’s Concourse A kiosk. The Strip Market’s “Best of Pittsburgh” kiosk in Concourse B showcases the delicacies and decor that define the region’s flavor, including Pittsburgh Pickles, Sarris Candies, Enrico Biscotti treats and Eat’n Park Smiley Cookies.
Later in 2017 two Pittsburgh dining brands, Steel Cactus and Local, are scheduled to open airport locations. Steel Cactus will serve traditional and modern Mexican fare in the main food court. An extension of Pittsburgh’s vibrant Local Bar & Kitchen and Local Brewhouse establishments, Local Craft will offer refreshing brews and bites in a new location in Concourse A.
In addition to the local offerings, Vino Volo will open its second location at the airport. The new retail-focused boutique and tasting lounge will also offer small plates and sophisticated wines in the Center Core.
Finally, the main food court area has been renovated. It features new modern furnishings, a communal seating area, LED lighting and more power outlets and USB charging ports. The food court seats up to 300 patrons and offers abundant natural light with open views of the airfield.
