Fueling Station, Convenience Store In The Works For IAD

Travelers through Washington Dulles International (IAD) will now have another convenient location to fuel up their vehicles.

The airport and Sunoco LP revealed plans on Jan. 21 for a new on-airport gas station and convenience store. The station will have 14 pumps with 28 fueling positions, as well as an 8,600-square-foot APlus convenience store that will have a Subway sandwich shop and a Laredo Taco Company.

Located off the Dulles Airport Access Highway, the project is expected to finish in fall 2016. At that time, the current gas station will close.

“Our goal is to continuously improve the experience for passengers at Dulles International Airport,” says Airports Authority Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer Jerome L. Davis. “Our renovation of airport concessions – bringing new stores and restaurants – as well as our new parking options and new website are all designed to make Dulles International a more pleasant and convenient place for our customers to begin and end their journey.”

The location of the new station, which will be on Rudder Road, is also the route for rental car return. Customers will be able to fill their gas tanks at competitive prices and go through an automated car wash.

“Dulles travelers are going to love what we have in store for them,” says Drew Kabakoff, director of brand marketing for Sunoco. “There will be more room to get your fuel and to eat inside our APlus store, where the great food from Subway will be complemented by our successful Laredo Taco Company, which is just now expanding to the East Coast from Texas with fresh, delicious Mexican food hand-made on premises.”
