Port Columbus International (CMH) has partnered with FuelRod, a San Diego-based company, to install its portable chargers for mobile devices in the airport.
FuelRod chargers, priced at $20, can charge Android and Apple devices for up to eight extra hours of talk time on a smartphone or an extra four hours on tablets.
“Since our first installation in San Diego, the feedback has been tremendous,” says FuelRod Co-Founder Joe Yeagley. “We’re very pleased to bring the FuelRod program to Port Columbus. Access to our FuelRods gives travelers an easy and cost-effective way of recharging their portable devices reducing ‘charging anxiety’ as well as enhancing comfort and safety in the terminals.”
The FuelRod kiosks at CMH allow travelers to purchase the portable chargers, as well as exchange it for a charged unit; chargers can also be recharged using any standard USB outlet.
“We are very excited to have eight of the FuelRod self-serve kiosks throughout Port Columbus, including the rental car lobby,” says David Saleme, business development manager of concessions at CMH. “Travelers in and out of Columbus will appreciate the convenience of these portable chargers provided by our new FuelRod kiosks. Instead of being tethered to an outlet, our customers can now charge up on the go in our airport, making it easier for them to take advantage of the many services we offer. In addition to the over 2,000 outlets terminalwide, FuelRod offers another convenient option for our passengers, ensuring no one has to hunt for an outlet or sit on the floor.”
