The Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) announced the opening of one of Chicago’s hometown favorites, Garrett Popcorn Shop, at Midway International Airport (MDW).
Located in the MDW Central Market, the new location serves Garrett Popcorn fan-favorites like Garrett Mix, CheeseCorn, CaramelCrisp and a variety of Nut CaramelCrisp recipes, in addition to classics like Buttery and Plain — all available in special tins featuring the Chicago skyline and local sports teams like the Cubs, White Sox, Blackhawks and Bears. The storefront features an iconic giant Garrett Popcorn tin in front of a mural of the Chicago skyline.
The opening is the latest step in the $75 million concessions investment by Midway Partnership, a concessions redevelopment model managed by a joint venture with Vantage Airport Group, SSP America, and Hudson.
“The opening of Midway’s first Garrett Popcorn Shop is the latest step in the Midway Modernization Program’s concessions redevelopment,” said Jamie Rhee, CDA Commissioner. “The program has already revamped Midway’s security pavilion and parking garage, and the CDA is excited to move the program forward with several new concessions that are slated to open in the terminal over the next year.”
