Grand Forks International To Celebrate Anniversary With Public

Grand Forks International (GFK) has been open for a half-century and it will celebrate the milestone with a public event next week.

GFK will have on hand a large aircraft display featuring four classic warbirds and several local aircraft. There will be games, grab bags, T-shirts and refreshments preceding a 3:30 p.m. ceremony.

The celebration coincides with the grand opening of a new snow removal equipment building that will be named after a longtime employee of the airport who died in January 2013.

The Stephen Rucinski Maintenance Center is on the northwest end of Airport Drive. Rucinski’s family and friends will be there for a ribbon cutting at noon.
