Miami-based Grove Bay Concessions is continuing its rapid expansion with several new openings at Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), as well as preparations for opening new concepts at Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport (PVD).
An ACDBE-certified airport concessionaire, Grove Bay plans to open 21 locations across four major airports by the end of 2025. The company entered airports in 2013 with a single full-service restaurant at Miami International Airport (MIA).
“Our commitment to providing exceptional dining experiences in airport environments has been the driving force behind our expansion,” said Francesco Balli, co-founder and CEO of Grove Bay Concessions. “We are excited to continue our journey and bring an array of culinary offerings to travelers across the nation.”
At RDU, Grove Bay has opened Black & White Coffee Roasters in Terminal 2 under a 10-year contract. Two more concepts – Carolina Craft and Crawford’s Genuine – are expected to open in the next two months. Crawford’s Genuine is a proprietary concept featuring Chef Scott Crawford. The full-service restaurant will offer American cuisine with a “North Carolina southern flare.” Carolina Craft, operated by Grove Bay Crawford joint venture, is a proprietary concept offering local craft beer, cocktails, wine and a food menu inspired by seasonal fare.
In an expansion of its partnership with Concessions International, Grove Bay this week opened a P.F. Chang’s at SEA. The two minority-owned concessionaires also operate Salty’s at SEA and Brewtop Social at the airport.
Upcoming for Grove Bay are openings of eight new concessions at PVD. The contract was awarded in August 2023 and expands the company’s presence in the airport, where it currently operates Wolfgang Puck Express and Providence Provisions Kitchen & Bar. Concepts will include a partnership with the oldest brewery in Rhode Island, Narragansett, for a proprietary concept called Narraganset Kitchen & Bar. Grove Bay is also working with hotel brand Sprint House on Block Island, creating a proprietary concept called Spring House Seafood Grill. The contract also includes locations for Halfmoon Empanadas, Burger King, two Dunkins and a proprietary Italian concept called Federal Hill Italian Eatery. In addition, Grove Bay has a partnership with the local Whalers Brewing Co. for a full bar concept at the food court.
