Gerald R. Ford International (GRR) will spend $95 million on capital improvements between 2015 and 2020.
The projects will include construction of the Consolidated Checkpoint & Marketplace, reconstruction of the terminal apron, a master-plan update and reconstruction of two parking lots. The plan also calls for resurfacing a portion of the airfield perimeter road and other maintenance of a public parking structure.
The Gerald R. Ford International Airport Board approved the expenditures earlier this week.
“This investment in airport infrastructure clarifies our commitment to providing West Michigan travelers an airport gateway that not only accommodates increasing activity but [is] also reflective of the West Michigan culture and community,” says Brian Ryks, executive director. “We will continue to make improvements in our facility to make traveling comfortable, convenient, customer-friendly and cost-effective.”
