The Clark County Board of Commissioners has approved a seven-year contract extension for HMSHost – valued at roughly $1.5 billion – to bring new food and beverage options to travelers at McCarran International Airport (LAS).
“With this approval from Clark County, HMSHost has the unique and enviable opportunity to build on the truly great partnership we have with McCarran International Airport and deliver the industry’s best dining experiences to Las Vegas travelers,” says HMSHost president and CEO, Steve Johnson.
The concessionaire’s more recent openings at the airport, such as Shake Shack and Pret A Manger, are also included in the deal. Plans for future developments are already underway and scheduled for openings sometime next year. The company says it will be opening both local staples and national favorites.
“We are extremely pleased to extend what’s been a longstanding and productive partnership with HMSHost,” says Clark County Director of Aviation Rosemary Vassiliadis. “Passenger traffic at McCarran International Airport hit an all-time high of 51.5 million last year, our third consecutive year of record volume. Along with the brands our customers already love, we’re also seeking new and different food and beverage concepts and services to better support our expanding customer base. A mix of the familiar coupled with diverse new options will better reflect our standing as a leading international destination, and we’re confident the team at HMSHost will help us to achieve our goals, enhancing our customers’ experience along the way.”
