Former Ohio State football player Eddie George is taking a turn as a restauranteur with the opening of Eddie George’s Grille 27 at Port Columbus International (CMH).
Opened in partnership with HMSHost Corp., the restaurant combines the sports theme with a menu offering breakfast, bar favorites and hand-crafted entrees.
“We are ecstatic that Eddie George’s Grille 27 is up and running, not only because of the dynamic menu but because we see this addition at Port Columbus as a wonderful opportunity to share a piece of Columbus, Ohio, with travelers,” says Kent Vanden Oever, vice president of business development at HMSHost. “The [Columbus Regional] Airport Authority and Eddie George have been excellent partners and without the entrepreneurial spirit and dedication of G.R.E.A.T. Grille Group this would not have been possible. We are all tremendously excited to give travelers from all over a fun and inviting place to come together and celebrate sports and great food.”
Lighter fare includes salads such as the Balsamic Roasted Beet Salad with fire-roasted beets, goat cheese and toasted almonds tossed in balsamic vinaigrette. For travelers looking for something more filling, there is the Grilled BBQ Burrito stuffed with chicken or the Cedar Planked Salmon, cooked on a cedar plank over an open flame and served with mustard dill sauce, brown rice and broccoli.
“Port Columbus is privileged to be the first airport to offer Eddie George’s Grille 27, and we appreciate partnering with HMSHost and the G.R.E.A.T. Grille Group to provide another local restaurant option for our passengers,” says Elaine Roberts, president and CEO of the Columbus Regional Airport Authority. “With a panoramic airfield view, an appealing menu and a sports lounge atmosphere, customers can expect an exceptional dining experience indicative of the restaurant’s dynamic namesake.”
