HMSHost Claims Corporate Partnership Award

Rockville-based non-profit Interfaith Works honored HMSHost Corp. this week at its 18th Annual Companies Caring Breakfast with the Corporate Partnership Award.

Interfaith Works works to meet the needs of the poor and homeless in Montgomery County. The award goes to recognize a company that demonstrates a commitment to the organization’s goals.

Gina Smith, HMSHost’s senior manager of human resources, and Haia Perlmutter, a rewards and recognition specialist are the main liaisons between Interfaith and HMSHost and they were present to accept the award.

“As a long-time member of the Montgomery County community, HMSHost could not think of a more vital organization to support than Interfaith Works,” says Steve Johnson, president and CEO. “Many of our associates not only work in Montgomery County, but they also live here, and being able to show compassion for our fellow citizens by partnering with Interfaith Works and supporting their remarkable efforts is a fulfilling endeavor on many levels.”

The organizations have been partnering since 2012. HMSHost local associates have participated in donating and sorting clothing for the Interfaith Clothing Center, a program that provides such goods to 13,000 residents each year; donating food from the corporate test kitchen; throwing cook-outs at Interfaith Works’ facilities and hosting drives for clothing and supplies.
