Eskimos Sports Bar is the latest concept to open in the Domestic-International Departures Lounge at Edmonton International (YEG), courtesy of HMSHost Corp.
The full-service restaurant celebrates the Edmonton Eskimos, a Canadian football team. The restaurant is decorated with the team’s green and gold colors, the 14-time Grey Cup Champions memorabilia and murals.
“We are thrilled to partner with Edmonton International Airport and the Edmonton Eskimos to bring travelers this unique dining experience that spotlights Edmontonians’ love of one of the most successful teams in [Canadian Football League] history,” says Kent Vanden Oever, vice president of business development for HMSHost. “With great food and drinks, along with a fun sports atmosphere, Edmonton Eskimos Sports Bar is the perfect stop for traveling fans that will have them cheering all the way to their gate.”
The menu includes the Green & Gold Nachos, Championship wings, Gameday Chili, Smoked Ribs, the Lobster Roll and the Kickoff Salad. Breakfast offerings, like the Green and Gold Omelet or Coaches’ Parfait, are also available.
For beverages there are themed specialty cocktails, like the Grey Cup, which has Grey Goose vodka, dry vermouth, green olives and a lemon twist, or the Green Gimlet, made with Hendrick’s Gin, simple syrup, cucumber water, a cucumber wheel and lime.
