Travelers through Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International (ATL) soon will be able to get a taste of the city without having to leave the concourse.
HMSHost Corp. will be bringing more than 30 new restaurants and 10 retail stores to the airport, many of which will be local brands.
“HMSHost has again earned a significant role in Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport’s concessions program,” says Louis E. Miller, aviation general manager at ATL. “HMSHost’s program brings a diverse portfolio of local, regional, and national restaurant and retail brands, which will add value to the traveler’s experience here at the world’s busiest airport.”
The new restaurants and shops will be located throughout the Atrium on Concourse C in the new Maynard H. Jackson International Terminal. They will open as part of three major concessions contracts awarded by the city of Atlanta; two restaurant contracts cover a 10-year term, and the third contract, for retail, covers a seven-year term.
“Fresh choices, local flavors and global style – that’s what HMSHost brings to the new dining and retail program at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport,” says Pat Banducci, chief operating officer for HMSHost. “Our proposal demonstrated our expertise in creating exceptional dining and shopping programs for airports and we’re proud to deliver such an innovative program to a world-class airport and the city of Atlanta.”
There will be a mix of classic local favorite restaurants throughout the airport. On Concourse C, guests will be able to experience The Varsity, the world’s largest drive-in diner. Also offered will be The Pecan by Atlanta Chef Tony Morrow and The Real Chow Baby from local restaurateur Chip Joyner, as well as Atlanta, Ga.-based Fifth Group’s The Original El Taco and Ecco; Sweet Georgia’s Juke Joint from local restaurateur Terry Harps; and Shane’s Rib Shack. LongHorn Steakhouse, a national concept, will also be on Concourse C, and the Atlanta ChopHouse will be found in the Atrium. Second locations of The Original El Taco and The Pecan also will open in the international facility.
On Concourse F, guests will find the Lorena Garcia Tapas Bar. Back on Concourse C, Satchel Bros. Deli & Pickle Bar is a collaboration with Fifth Group. And Maison Mathis and Belgian Beer Cafe will offer a respite for travelers.
Other national favorites will include Starbucks on Concourse C and Terminal F, Carraba’s Italian Grill and Atlanta-Based Chick-fil-A on Concourse C; and La Madeleine Country French Cafe and T.G.I. Friday’s, both in the Atrium. IN addition, there will be locations of Pei Wei Asian Diner, Five Guys Burgers & Fries, Baja Fresh Mexican Grill, Teriyaki Experience and French Meadow Bakery Cafe.
On the retail side, travelers will find Kiehl’s, MAC Cosmetics, Touch Table, Sunglass Icon and Luxury Boutique, Clutch, Simply Books, The Wall Street Journal and CNN International News, and Tommy Hilfiger.
