HMSHost Corp. will continue to provide dining options for travelers at Norfolk International (ORF).
The Norfolk Airport Authority recently awarded a contract extension valued at more than $63 million to the company. HMSHost’s lease with the airport began in 1999 and is being extended by five years, putting the expiration in June 2026 rather than June 2021.
“HMSHost has had a great partnership with Norfolk International Airport for many years, and we are proud to be moving forward together to give travelers the best possible dining experience while in the airport,” says Bryan Loden, vice president of business development for HMSHost. “We are excited to open some great new restaurants and continue operating some traveler favorites for years to come.”
The company plans to open The Local @ORF, a gastropub concept that incorporates products from local farmers and breweries. It will also open ORF MKT, a concept of market-like stations that use fresh, all-natural, local, farm-grown products.
“The Norfolk Airport Authority is pleased to extend our business relationship with HMSHost, and we are excited about the additions and improvements that will be offered to our customers,” says Robert Bowen, executive director of the airport authority.
HMSHost will continue to operate Back Bay Bistro, James River Grille, Great American Bagel, Burger King and the airport’s three Starbucks locations under the new lease terms.
