Chef Jeff Steelman, who has masterminded many popular HMSHost Corp. restaurants in airports, appeared as a judge on TNT’s cooking show “On The Menu” on Nov. 14. His fellow judges were celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse, rock legend Sammy Hagar (also an HMSHost partner) and Ty Pennington, the show’s host.
“On The Menu” is a cooking competition where everyday cooks go head to head for the opportunity to have their creation featured on the menu of a different selected restaurant represented for each episode. The item will appear at that restaurant for 60 days.
Sammy’s Beach Bar & Grill, by Hagar and HMSHost, was the featured restaurant on Nov. 14. The winning dish, a shrimp enchilada snack, was prepared by Tamara Coleman. Her dish will be served at four Sammy’s Beach Bar & Grill locations in airports and in five additional sites on the street.
“Being a judge … was an absolute blast and is unlike anything HMSHost has done before,” Steelman says. “It was an honor to judge with Chef Emeril and our partner Sammy Hagar, and I can’t wait to see the dish being served to travelers visiting Sammy’s in the airports.”
