HMSHost Corp. and joint venture partner PJLF Enterprises have opened Shula’s Bar & Grill at Southwest Florida International (RSW).
“We’re glad that the new Shula’s Bar&Grill joins our roster of restaurants,” said Robert M. Ball, executive director of Southwest Florida International. “With its pre-security location, visitors and travelers alike can enjoy Shula’s flavorful steaks and extensive menu.”
The RSW Shula’s Bar & Grill will be the restaurant’s second airport location. The first opened in May 2011 at Miami International (MIA). The restaurant not only features wines from California, Italy, Chile and New Zealand, but the menu offers items such as filet mignon, New York strip steak, and appetizers such as crab cakes and blackened tenderloin tips.
“We are excited about growing our presence in the Fort Myers’ area with Shula’s Bar&Grill at Southwest Florida International Airport,” said David Shula, president of Shula’s Steak Houses.
Among those on hand to commemorate the grand opening was legendary, Hall of Fame coach Don Shula, Lee Ford and PJ Benton of PJLF Enterprises, Renee Tedesco of HMSHost Corp. and Lee County Commissioner John Manning. The restaurant is located in the pre-security area of the airport’s main terminal.

Host Donates to Children’s Miracle Network
The company’s Los Angeles International (LAX) branch presented a donation of $125,000 to the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), which is a member of the Children’s Miracle Network of Hospitals. The presentation of the donation, which came from the company’s 2011 fundraising campaign, was made at Nate ‘n Al in LAX’s terminal 2.
Throughout 2011, Host LAX associates and their families participated in various fundraising activities. The Nate ‘n Al airport location which Host operates will donate 10% of sales from Jan. 17 to 24 to begin the 2012 fundraising campaign.
