Hudson Booksellers is slated to open in early October in the former Borders space in Terminal 2 at Raleigh-Durham International (RDU).
The lease on the 1,225 sq. ft. space is for approximately one year, the end of the lapsed Borders lease. It will be operated by RDU Air Ventures JV, a joint venture made up of Airport Management Services LLC (Hudson Group) and Shaw Food Services Co., an Airport Concessionaire Disadvantaged Business Enterprise based in Fayetteville, N.C.
In addition to books, merchandise offerings will include newspapers, e-book readers, Papyrus greeting cards and paper goods.
At RDU, Hudson will continue to support the USO with donations of new books, as it does in about a dozen airport markets.
