Hudson Group presented a check for $300,000 to Communities in Schools last week during the company’s Management Seminar and Vendor Show in Las Vegas.
Hudson stores in airports and bus and rail terminals collect money throughout the year in countertop boxes encouraging donations of spare change.
“We have been working with CIS for six years, and we have tremendous respect for the results you achieve with young people: 99 percent of your kids remain in school,” Hudson President and CEO Joe DiDomizio told Elaine Wynn, who chairs the organization’s board. “It’s a great cause, and we are always amazed at the generosity of our customers in their support of it.”
After the show, about 150 Hudson Group vendors also donated 15 pallets of merchandise to local Las Vegas schools to benefit underserved children. The distribution included toys, clothing, school supplies, books and electronics. K.P. Fitzgerald Elementary, Valley View Cares, West Prep Academy, Pearson Community Center and 100 Academy of Excellence all benefited from the donations.
