Hudson Group, SEA Cut Ribbon On Two Retail Stores

Hudson Group and Seattle-Tacoma International (SEA) celebrated the opening of two retail stores with a ribbon cutting and expo for travelers and local fashion experts.

MAC Cosmetics, part of the Estee Lauder Companies, and luxury fashion store Coach opened last week. During a celebration, Hudson Group offered passengers previews and samples of major brands along with wine tastings and local snacks. And during the event, the concessionaire hosted beauty artists from brands like Clinique and Estee Lauder, who gave travelers samples and makeup tips.

Seattle Chocolates and Chateau Ste Michelle also offered chocolate and wine tastings during the event.

The openings are a precursor of things to come. In early 2017 airport officials say they will announce a new lineup of tenants aimed at increasing the focus on locally owned businesses that reflect the local region.

“It is so important as an international gateway to offer a bevy of local retail and dining options to travelers,” says Lionel Vincenti, senior manager of dining and retail at SEA. “We call it a ‘Northwest sense of place’ really giving travelers access to the soul of our unique area whenever they travel through the airport.”

SEA has encountered significant growth in recent years. The airport, through November, had 42 million total passengers, up 8.25 percent from 38.8 million passengers for the first 11 months of 2015. And 2015 represented the airport’s seventh consecutive record-setting passenger count, according to traffic reports.
