Hudson Opens Harley-Davidson Store At Charleston International

Travelers this week through Charleston International (CHS) got a glimpse at the first of several new retail offerings at the airport when Low Country Harley-Davidson opened its doors.

It’s the beginning of a new retail program created through the $189 million Terminal Redevelopment and Improvement Program.

Low Country Harley-Davidson has been a part of Charleston since 1979, boasting the state of South Carolina’s largest Harley motorcycle sales and service center in an off-airport location. The airport venue will be operated by retail concessionaire Hudson Group.

In the months ahead, Hudson Group also will open Eddie Bauer, Discover Charleston, Veranda News, Tech on the Go and Hudson News.

The Harley-Davidson store will be between Concourse A and Concourse B, a short walk from where passengers exit security screening. It features an open storefront with signage set against a steel background reminiscent of the steel of each bike, company officials say. Inside, a flat-screen monitor will play music and broadcast images remindful of the open road. The store will offer gift items ranging from mugs to golf balls and a selection of clothing and accessories for men, women and dogs.

This is the sixth airport where Hudson Group has operates a Harley-Davidson store.

“We are thrilled to open the first of our new retail stores,” says Renee Gatlin-Davis, general manager at Hudson. “We think passengers will enjoy the new store and hope everyone will stop by during their time at the airport.”
