IAH Opens New Terminal E Ticketing Lobby

George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) has opened its Terminal E ticketing lobby for the first time since 2021, when the airport closed the ticketing lobby and moved United passengers flying out of Terminal E to Terminal C. The new Terminal E ticketing lobby features 10 TSA screening lanes and an 11-lane departures curb and will evolve into the airport’s International Central Processor (ICP) later this year, expanding to include 17 TSA lanes, new concessions and a new baggage handling system as part of the airport’s $1.458-billion Terminal Redevelopment program. Terminal E’s ticketing lobby opening comes ahead of the airport’s spring break travel rush, in which the facility anticipates receiving 1.8 million passengers between March 6 and 17 alone.

“This is a big win for travelers,” said Jim Szczesniak, director of aviation for Houston Airports. “Passengers flying out of Terminal E will now have more space, faster security and a better check-in experience. This opening also helps relieve congestion at Terminal C, improving the passenger experience at Bush Airport.”

“This is the kind of improvement Houston travelers deserve, and I expect Houston Airports to continue delivering. Expanding security lanes, improving check-in and reducing congestion are steps in the right direction—but our job isn’t done,” said Mayor John Whitmire. “I know Houston Airports will continue to prioritize the highest standards of efficiency, safety and customer service.”
