IAH Unveils Marriott Renovations

The Houston Airport Marriott at George Bush Intercontinental (IAH) has a spruced-up look.

The 573-room hotel, which opened in 1971, underwent extensive renovations of the exterior, guest rooms, suites, meeting rooms, lobby, restaurants, public areas and fitness center.

“The Houston Airport Marriott provides our travelers with an elevated option for meetings, business trips and leisure stays, with the convenience of being in the heart of George Bush Intercontinental Airport,” says Mario Diaz, Houston aviation director. “The hotel adds to the airport’s plans to revitalize and modernize our facility and provide our growing number of travelers with the best care and experience possible when arriving and departing our gates. We’re thrilled to have the newly transformed hotel that guests can easily access from all five terminals in the airport.”

The renovated guest rooms feature custom-designed headboards that include task lighting, electric outlets and USB outlets. Plus, high-speed wireless Internet and 47-inch LCD TVs are standard in every room. Bathrooms now have stand-up, tile showers with glass doors.

The 30,000 square feet of meeting space has new furnishings, carpet, wall coverings and audio/visual systems.

“The hotel has been updated with our guest’s comfort in mind so that they may have an uplifting experience and the opportunity to recharge while they are on the road,” says Suzy Hart, general manager of the Houston Airport Marriott. “We’re thrilled to extend our reopening celebration into the George Bush Intercontinental Airport with travel amenities for those coming to Houston and departing to various destinations.”
