A popular local restaurant and bakery has opened its second location at Miami International (MIA).
Icebox Café© has been on Lincoln Road in South Beach, Fla., since 1998. The new airport location is a quick-serve deli-bakery serving nationally recognized cakes and desserts, along with breakfast, lunch and dinner.
“Icebox Café© joins other South Florida icons such as La Carreta, Café© Versailles, Shop Britto and Books & Books that provide a sense of place for out-of-town travelers and a familiar face for locals,” says Greg Chin, communications director for the Miami-Dade Aviation Department. “These local themes give travelers a taste of South Florida without even leaving the airport. We are extremely excited to have Icebox Café© as our newest dining location in Concourse D.”
The art deco/South Beach-style café© opened Oct. 26 in the North Terminal near Gate D-8. Like its off-airport location, the MIA bakery will offer shipping service.
Icebox Café© is one of 30 restaurants and stores opening or re-opening in Concourse D this year; others will open this fall and in 2011.
