IND Awards 10-Year Contract To Areas USA

Indianapolis International (IND) has awarded a concessions package to Areas USA for 10 food establishments.

The company will feature brands such as Shula’s 2, Corona, Bar and Grill, DiVine, Qdoba, Champps Americana, Cold Stone Creamery and Green Leaf’s and Bananas.  Giorgio’s Pizza and South Bend Chocolate Co., two local establishments, also will be in the lineup.

“We know what it takes to provide the highest standard of quality to travelers that visit IND airport,” said Xavier Rabell, chief executive officer of Areas USA.  “With our exceptional record of customer service, we know we will be able to fit right in and extend the Hoosier hospitality the city is known for.”

All of the new food retailers will be in the newly constructed airport, set to open in the fall. The company says the openings will provide about 200 jobs over the 10-year contract period, and it expects to generate $12.5M in sales during its first year.

“With its strategic location at the crossroads of America, and as the 13th largest city in the nation, Indianapolis is in line with our strategy to expand in the U.S. market,” Rabell says. “With almost 40 years’ experience, we have the expertise to design, manage and maintain a wide range of services and we believe we can add a unique flare to this growing city’s new airport.”
