Consumers will soon be able to buy and download select albums and singles at InMotion Entertainment’s PlayPoint Media Hotspot kiosks.
The company has teamed up with EMI Music to offer the tunes, which can be purchased and transferred directly to portable music devices, including iPods.
Rotating new and catalog titles will be featured at 45 InMotion stores beginning this month. Participating locations include John F. Kennedy International (JFK), Los Angeles International (LAX) and San Francisco International (SFO).
Customers will browse, purchase and download music using a touch screen and their credit card; albums will be available for $11.99.
“This is a great new opportunity for us to help connect the artists with fans,” says Eden Goldberg, vice president of marketing and business development at InMotion Entertainment. “By offering a ‘fueling station’ for their portable devices, consumers now have an easy way to discover and buy new music they can enjoy on their travels.”
