JAA Approves Spending $1.5M

At its monthly board meeting, the Jacksonville Aviation Authority has agreed to match federal dollars with aviation authority funds so it can get Airport Improvement Program grants.

It will spend $1.5M to receive $4.6M from the Federal Aviation Administration to use on projects at Jacksonville International (JAX) this fiscal year, which ends Sept. 30.

The authority also expects to receive grants for Cecil Field (VQQ), Craig (CRG) and Herlong (HEG).

Also at the meeting, the JAA formed an executive search committee to find a replacement for John Clark, who left his position for a similar role at Indianapolis International (IND). JAA Chairman Jim McCollum will serve as interim CEO until a permanent replacement is found.
