Jacksonville International Airport Announces Groundbreaking for Concourse B Expansion

The Jacksonville Aviation Authority will hold a groundbreaking ceremony on May 10 to kick off  Jacksonville International Airport (JAX)’s Concourse B expansion project. U.S. representatives Aaron Bean and John Rutherford as well as Jacksonville Aviation Authority CEO Mark VanLoh and board chair Michelle Barnett are scheduled to speak.

The new, three-level concourse will add approximately 165,000 additional square feet to the airport, including six gates, new hold rooms, concession space, restrooms, ground loading locations and moving sidewalks. Originally planned for 2023, the estimated $300-million-dollar project suffered several construction delays, but is expected to open by 2026.
