Airports are continuing to demand healthy options on behalf of their passengers, but comfort foods – often locally sourced, organic or humanely raised – are also on the rise. Despite the focus on local food and beverage, national brands are continuing to make headway in airports. Live music venues are finding a place in airports to entertain passengers. The Ark at JFK will offer luxury accommodations for a variety of animals when it opens later this year. Long security lines have plagued the industry in recent months but concerted efforts by TSA and airports to address the problem appear to be working.
