Kulture Superfoods emerged victorious at Trout Tank: Food Frenzy, an event presented by Mission Yogurt, Inc. and the Denver Metro Small Business Development Center.
Modeled after Shark Tank, the Dec. 1 event involved five companies presenting their business plans to investors, lenders and a panel of judges. The finalists were Komotodo Sushi Burrito, Just BE Kitchen, Petey Bird, Kulture Superfoods and Mac ‘N Noodles. By winning first place, Kulture Superfoods, makers of dehydrated kale chips, took home $5,000.
Trout Tank was launched in January 2015 by the Denver Metro SBDC to connect local entrepreneurs with potential funders. Mission Yogurt partnered with the organization for this edition, which was the first industry-specific Trout Tank.
“I am proud to partner with organizations like Denver Metro SBDC to support these local entrepreneurs in their food and beverage industry endeavors,” says Rod Tafoya, president and owner of Mission Yogurt. “This kind of event is really one-of-a-kind, and I’m honored to help Kulture Superfoods expand its business.
