Bruce Pelly has retired after 32 years as Palm Beach International (PBI) director and has been replaced by Laura Beebe, who formally served as deputy director of airport business affairs.
Pelly served Palm Beach County for 43 years before stepping down last month. The Palm Beach County Board of Commissioners unanimously appointed Beebe to replace him. Beebe began her career in 1998 as assistant county attorney, representing the Department of Airports.
“I am honored to take on the responsibility of leading PBI into its next phase of innovation and development,” says Beebe in a statement. “I am very fortunate to be able to step into my new role knowing that the airport has been operated successfully for the past 32 years under Mr. Pelly’s direction, and I am dedicated to ensuring that PBI remains an award-winning, progressive and customer-focused airport.”
