“LAX At Home” Connects Airport With Community

If people aren’t coming to the airport, Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is seeking to connect to them where they live.

Since most Angelenos are staying at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic, LAX is offering a variety of activities and content designed to capture the spirit of of the airport and city. From virtual tours of the award-winning art program, to video visits with our Pets Unstressing Passengers (PUPs), to games and coloring activities, there is something for everyone.

With the airport’s volunteers housebound, the Pets Unstressing Passengers (PUP) canine teams and their handlers are connecting with people at home, providing updates on how they are spending their time and gearing up for visiting the airport again. LAX Pups at Home videos are available on the airport’s social media platforms.

Those interested in art can access a new video series called “LAX Art at Home.” The series features some of the newest artists at LAX and gives viewers a deeper look at the process and meaning behind art now on display inside LAX terminals.

LAX also offers airport-related games, puzzles and coloring pages, including a complete, printable board game. The game challenges players to make it around the LAX horseshoe the fastest. Along the way, nearly 50 Boarding Pass Cards offer advantages and setbacks as players move their pieces toward the airport exit. Finally, LAX has created city-specific music playlists called Airport Love, which “help reconnect us with the many places that we can’t visit right now.” The playlists are available on Spotify, and new playlists will be uploaded on LAX social media sites as they are release.
