The Lee County Board of Port Commissioners has named Steven C. Hennigan as its next executive director and CEO of the Lee County Port Authority (LCPA). In his new role Hannigan will manage the operations, administration and development of Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) and Page Field (FMY). Hennigan follows longtime LCPA executive director Benjamin Siegel, who resigned in April 2024 after more than three decades in the position. Hennigan, who has been with LCPA since May 2021, previously served as the interim executive director, deputy executive director of aviation and COO. Prior to his tenure at LCPA, Hennigan served as chief of operations for the Houston Airport System (HAS), managing both operations at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and William P. Hobby Airport (HOU). Prior to HAS, Hennigan worked in a variety of roles, including operations manager at Denver International Airport (DEN). A member of the American Association of Airport Executives, Hennigan also serves on the board for the Tony Jannus Distinguished Aviation Society and is an executive committee member of local economic advisory board the Horizon Council. “I look forward to working with the board and the outstanding employees at Southwest Florida International Airport and Page Field,” said Hennigan. “I am excited about the opportunity to lead our airports into the future with the Terminal Expansion projects at RSW and the completion of the South Quadrant Hangars and Ramp Project at Page Field, as well as work closely with our community leaders to promote business and tourism in the region.”
