LGA Terminal B Sees First Wave Of Upgrades

MarketPlace Development celebrated Tuesday the first phase of upgrades to the concessions program in LaGuardia’s (LGA) Terminal B.

Tumi, a luxury accessories brand; Lacoste, which sells apparel, shoes and accessories; and Eddie Bauer, which sells clothes, kicked off the transformation on the Departures Level. The stores add an up-market sophistication to the retail program, MarketPlace officials say.

Food options that have opened include Sorrentine Panini Bar, Bowery Bay Tavern and Six Blocks Bakery.

“We’ve been hard at work this summer so that we can provide passengers with a new and improved experience at LaGuardia,” says Paul McGinn, president of MarketPlace. “We think passengers will be delighted with the new dining and shopping options at Terminal B.”

Services also have been added. They include the Centurion Lounge by American Express. Located on the third floor, it is accessible to Amex card holders. And Temporary ChargeBars have been installed in two store locations that are awaiting construction. They provide a quiet work place for passengers.

“These new shops, restaurants and amenities will enhance the travel experience, and we look forward to adding more dining and retail options for our travelers as we continue our overall initiatives to further modernize LaGuardia,” says Lysa Scully, LGA’s general manager.
