The Denver ChopHouse & Brewery has joined Denver International’s (DEN) growing list of local restaurants.
The restaurant, which opened Tuesday in Concourse A, is part of Denver, Colo.-based Rock Bottom Restaurants Inc. and has been a local favorite for more than 14 years. “Denver ChopHouse represents a significant addition to the DIA family of concessionaires, as DIA moves forward in creating a more exciting retail and restaurant environment that is evocative of the Denver metro area, Colorado and the Rocky Mountain West,” says Bryan Touchstone, director of concessions. “Denver ChopHouse fills the needs of business and leisure travelers who want finer food served in a setting that is reminiscent of the golden age of train travel.”
The airport location, which will be managed by HMSHost Corp. as part of a license agreement, is reminiscent of a 1940s pub and features exposed brick and wood tones against a backdrop of 1940s-era Big Band beats. Menu items include breakfast, steaks, chicken, salads and appetizers.
“We’re pleased to partner with HMSHost to bring the Denver ChopHouse & Brewery restaurant to Denver International Airport,” says Buck Warfield, senior vice president of development for Rock Bottom Restaurants. “It will be a welcome sanctuary for travelers, providing them with the high-quality dining experience they desire, and giving them a great first and last impression of what the city of Denver has to offer.”
At least six ChopHouse brews will be on tap on a rotating seasonal basis, including American Pale Ale and a Bavarian-style Dark Munich Lager. The bar also offers domestic and imported wines, as well as cocktails.
“Denver is a great city and offering a local icon at the airport, like the Denver ChopHouse & Brewery, is a great way to welcome travelers to the area or send them on a flight after a good meal,” says Stephen Douglas, vice president of business development for HMSHost. “At HMSHost, we strive to make the traveler’s day better consistently by providing new and exciting dining options that travelers expect and enjoy.”

DEN will distribute reusable grocery shopping bags to passengers in the Jeppesen Terminal in conjunction with Earth Day on April 22.
The airport has a new sustainability logo – “DIA: Sustainability with Altitude” – that will be highlighted on the bags, which are co-sponsored by United Airlines.
DEN has long promoted environmental efforts. It is the only domestic, commercial airport with an internationally certified Environmental Management System that covers the entire facility. It was also the first airport in the U.S. to be accepted into the US EPA’s National Environmental Performance Track Program, in 2006.
